The presence and impacts of Generative AI have implications for teaching practices across higher education, including course design, assessment, and classroom facilitation and engagement. As with many pedagogical decisions, deciding whether and how to integrate GenAI into your teaching can be considered through the lens your own teaching values. This session will offer participants the opportunity to consider their teaching values and how they impact on discussions about and integration of GenAI.
Together, we will aim to:
- Reflect on our individual and shared teaching values
- Identify some key considerations related to GenAI in teaching and learning
- Apply our values and goals to GenAI decision making through relevant case studies
Presenters: Mandy Penney and Jenny Foley
Note: Registration closes by 8:30AM March 5th, 2026.
This session qualifies as a Future Prof credit towards the Western Certificate in University Teaching & Learning.
