Teaching Dossier Workshop Series - Part 3: Contextualizing Your Teaching Dossier for Today's Academic Hiring Landscape

Feb 19, 2026 01:30 PM to 03:00 PM
Online

Registration Deadline: Feb 19, 2026 11:30 AM

Your teaching dossier needs to act as more than a repository. This workshop is designed to guide graduate students in translating their teaching experiences and approaches into practical, compelling formats aligned with current hiring expectations. We'll explore how to weave the approaches and values underpinning your Teaching Philosophy into key elements such as Generative AI statements, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization (EDID) commitments, and other contextual components that showcase your adaptability and values. By the end of the session, you'll have strategies to retool elements of your Dossier and Teaching Philosophy to reframe and strengthen your narrative.

Participants are encouraged to bring a draft of their current Teaching Dossier and/or Teaching Philosophy.

This workshop is a part three of a four-part series designed to support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in building a strong, reflective teaching dossier for academic job applications, awards, or professional development. Each session focuses on a key component of the dossier and includes interactive activities to help participants apply what they learn. While participants are encouraged to attend all four workshops for a comprehensive experience, each session is self-contained and can be taken individually.

Presenters: Jenny Foley

Note: Registration closes by 11:30AM February 10th, 2026.

This session qualifies as a Future Prof credit towards the Western Certificate in University Teaching & Learning.
