Teaching in the Canadian Classroom (TCC) is a 20-hour certificate program composed of 15 in-person class hours (including 2 microteaching sessions) and 5 hours of asynchronous online work. This program is designed for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who want to enhance their teaching through a socio-cultural lens. Participants will be added to a Brightspace site on August 23rd to complete asynchronous online preparation work. Required, in-person classes will run on campus:
Wednesday, September 10th, 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Thursday, September 11th - 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Friday, September 12th - 10:00AM - 4:00PM
Microteaching sessions with smaller groups will be organized for the afternoons on the second and third in-person days of the program.
After successful completion, participants will receive a certificate of completion. Learn more about this program on the Teaching in the Canadian Classroom webpage.
Please contact ctl@uwo.ca if you have any questions about the program.
Registration Instructions:
1. Select the Register on Waiting List button. You will receive an automated waitlist confirmation email to your Western email account.
2. Submit your $20 deposit (cash or cheque only) to the CTL to complete your registration and secure your spot in the program. The CTL is open to receive deposits between 9:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. If you are unable to be on campus, you can mail the deposit by cheque to the address listed below.

If a spot does not become available for you, we encourage you to register for the next offering of TCC (please see the section "Offered" on the TCC webpage).
Deposits will be returned upon completion of the program, or if a participant cancels their registration 3 business days prior to the start of the program.
Completion of this program counts as a Microteaching credit toward the Western Certificate in University Teaching and Learning.
