Winter 2025 Organizational Meeting of the Teaching Mentor Program

The Teaching Mentor Program is a cohort-based hands-on learning experience, wherein participants work with a group of 4-5 peers from different disciplines to observe and offer feedback on one another's teaching. Participants will take turns visiting one another's classrooms to observe their peers' teaching. Those who do not have TA or Course Instructor duties this term will design 50-minute teaching demonstrations for their group members to attend. Participants must register and attend the organizational meeting to take part in the Teaching Mentor Program.

Please note: Interested participants begin on the waiting list. After you "Register on Waiting List" to complete registration/ become enrolled in the program please complete the registration survey as found in your waitlist confirmation email. 

At this online organizational meeting on Wednesday, February 5th from 1:00PM-2:30PM, participants will meet their group members and learn more about how the program works. Following the organizational meeting, groups schedule their teaching observations independently. Each group also meets for a final feedback session towards the end of term (dates to be determined by group).

Attendance at the Organizational meeting, participation in all of your group's teaching demonstrations, and in the final feedback meeting are mandatory for the successful completion of the Teaching Mentor Program. At the end of the program, students will have letters of recommendation from their colleagues as proof of completion.

Completion of this program (including all mock teaching and feedback sessions) counts toward completion of the Western Certificate in University Teaching and Learning
