Community of Care: Mental Health in Racialized Communities
Do you feel comfortable navigating and accessing mental health services on campus and in your community? As a racialized student, are there specific mental health concerns you find are prevalent?

January 26th marks Bell Let's Talk Day which focuses on action to increase awareness around mental health and encourages Canadians and people worldwide to keep listening, keep talking, and keep being there for ourselves and each other.
January 29th also marks the National Day of Remembrance of the Québec City Mosque Attack and Action against Islamophobia.

In this community of care event, we hope to offer a safe space for racialized students to discuss mental health and learn more about mental health and wellness resources available on campus.

The event will be held online via zoom and facilitated by Rose Tanaye, Mental Health Counselor and Raghad Ebied, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Education Coordinator at Western University.
Please note that this is not a counselling group. For those students who would like to access counselling support, you can do so by booking a 1:1 appointment with Western Health & Wellness. Students who identify as racialized and are seeking a safe space to talk, can request to speak with counsellors who are themselves persons of these communities with lived experience. Please call 519-661-3030 to book an appointment.
